Plus, because the speakers flank the display, you're unlikely to cover them up with your thumbs when gaming. Seriously, an external speaker is almost redundant when listening to your favorite tunes on Spotify or Pandora. In our testing, the handset provided amazingly loud and clear sound at just a little over half-volume. The HTC One does just that, with dual-stereo speakers powered by Beats Audio. If you're going to market your phone with a name like BoomSound, you had better back it up. call quality signal reception and connecting options are great. anything we throw at it, it takes with ease but still i said it is slow downed with touch wiz interface ,battery life is also good its decent battery back up. with 2gb bundled with that quad core snapdragon processor multitasking is simply great. but the screen is amazing.the processor department it is simply superb. colors are bright but the whites are bit saturated. so the camera department is both negative and as well as positive for the phone. the camera is department also is not so great in low light conditions its simply very crappy there is more noise added to the pics but in good light conditions its okay. it takes up a lot more of space in phone memory ,but other feautres are okay ,the s4 came with many other features like when we look away the video stops playing etc, those are just added bonus that we dont use. its slow, buggy and very sloppy ,and bloatware with it is simply a waste. coming to software section i never liked the touch wiz interface. i was very sad that after spending a whooping 41k all i got is a s3 looking a like ,man i hated it,so i shifted g2 (absolute beast and great smart phone).build quality over all should have been better. but when i used it for a week every one asked me " is it s3". coming to the build quality its still that cheap looking and feel plastic but it feels light in hand. its nothing but galaxy s3 with a lot more bells and whistles. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass/ magnetometer.Īs of 15th December 2023, Samsung Galaxy S4 price in India starts at Rs. If you don't see your favorite free Mac app on this list, please add it in the comments section with your reason for why it stands out (Remember: It has to be truly free, or the free version of an otherwise premium app that is noteworthy.)Īugust 2019: Removed apps that are no longer free or available. Since this is a list of apps, I'm not including services that only have websites without a dedicated app (there are two exceptions to this rule on the list, but they are totally worthy of rule-bending). You will see some apps that have premium content that can be unlocked with an in-app purchase, but I've included them on the list because I feel that the free content is noteworthy. If an app is on the Mac App Store, it is in one of the 21 categories that Apple has listed.īecause this is a "free" app list, I tried to only include apps that are truly free or whose functionality is not diminished without an in-app purchase. You just have one variableĪs a function of another. What is R prime of theta? Well, there's really nothing new here. The rate of change of R with respect to theta? Pause this video and see This in a calculus context, so the first question might be well, how do we express So, we reach a kind of a maximum R there and then and as theta increases, our R once again starts to get smaller and smaller and smaller. Over four right over there, well, sin of two times pi over four is sin of pi over two, R is equal to one. Is equal to pi over four? When theta is equal to pi Or clover-looking thing, so it starts looking like that and we could keep going all the way. R is going to be zero, sin of two times zero is just zero, so our R we're just gonna be at the origin and then as theta get larger, our R gets larger and so, we start tracing out this pedal of this flower And just to familiarize ourselves with this curve let's just see why it's intuitive. Point right over here and specify it with some angle theta and some R which is the distance from the origin to that point. Them in terms of an angle and a radius so for example, this would have some X coordinate and some Y coordinate or we could draw a line from the origin to that So, what we're doing for any point here, we could obviously specify these points in terms of X and Y coordinates but we could also specify Let's just familiarize ourself why this graph looks the way it does. Our pre-calculus section but I'll give you a littleīit of a primer here. Search for polar coordinates in Khan Academy or look at Look unfamiliar to you or if you need to brush up on them I encourage you to do a Theta in polar coordinates and if polar coordinates Have here is the graph of R is equal to sin of two If you have identified a regression bug - something which works correctly in the official viewer but not in Singularity, as well as for feature requests, we welcome you to contact us, directly. Remember the first Nicholaz wasn't even a full viewer? You had to replace some files in the original viewer for Nicholaz files and voila, all your problems were solved. When I got hinted on Nicholaz patch to solve my problems I installed that one. The last official LL viewer I ever used was 1.17.3 or somesuch. I'm the effing customer!!! I know what I want, I know what I need, and I know where to get it. What would you do in that case? Don't buy from that particular manufacturer again! See, that's exactly what 85% of SL customers do. And when you complain about it you're told you have no right to complain as long as you can't builld a better car. There are more than enough better viewers around already.Īlso, please imagine, you buy a new car: after a while it starts to rust, the energy efficiency is worse than your old car's, it breaks down every few miles. Now tell me why I should make a better viewer? With phoenix you will have always the bottom bar and it will limit your immersion But at the difference with the mouselook mode, you see your own avatar The immersion is more complete than in phoenix because you have not the gui displayed. It s wrong, you can hide every controls with S元 ( control+ shift + u). With S元 yoou can select which button is interesting you, and not display the others īecause, you may have more buttons at your convenaninace with S元 than phoenix, you can access to your action faster with less clicksīetter, you could change the number or the type of buttons with phoenix. It s an huge difference with SL2 where you should open the side-panel before to do any action. With S元, you may have up to 30 buttons ( for instance with the starlight skin ) on the sides and or the bottom With phoenix you ahve only 9 buttons at the bottom. With phoenix : one button to open the inventory, one click to open the folder outfit, one click to select the outfit = 3 clicks and it can be worst because your inventory is not sorted With S元 : one button to open the list of outfits, one click to to select the outfit = 2 clicks They operate a 24/7 business for fecks sake! But you can't reach anybody after hours or during lunch time = bad work ethics. LL is sposedly an internet company, a server host. Look at the life chat team, only operating at normal US westcoast offfice hours. I don't know anybody using voice, do you? Look at all the small inventions with questionable value and look at the bad shape the grid is in, after years and years of complaints and huge muckups. Look at their land management, look at all their policies, look at their ongoing problem with lag and sim crossings and underperforming servers, look at voice and other completely unnecessary crap nobody needs or asked for. So I needed to remind him again that I know and that I was there when he rezzed it and thx very much again. Like 2 weeks later he sends a comment to my closed support ticket and tells me again the buoy is there and was rezzed on that and that day. So he came over to the correct sim and rerezzed the buoy. Turned out he was in a wrong sim with a similar name. A few days later he told me the buoy is there and what my problem is. I gave him the exact sim name and the coords. Since we need that marker in some racecourses I asked him to rerezz at the location. How shoud one back up such a statement? Oh, quite easy: It was based on my dealings with LL and by looking at what they do and analyzing every of their moves.įor example: some Linden removed a buoy from a Linden protected waterway, heaven knows why. Especially that part about low work ethics. My interface has midi so I guess the work-around would be to record a midi track and the use that to trigger one of the synths or drum machines onto another track. In my case, doing this creates a feedback loop, so it wasn't possible. However, to do that through the interface you have to take the output of the soundcard and run it to one of the inputs. Like you say, the best way would be to record those onto another track and measure the difference. I used sequenced woodblock hits that I recorded on my drum track for a count in. I figured that even though 5 ms sounded perfect, it must actually be some small percentage greater or less than this. I thought of that while I was trying to set it up. Give it a try, and if you get a chance let us know! -A But my USB interface is inherently latent (5ms ain't awful though) and this has completely solved the problem. I'm totally with Manning1 on getting your computer running as fast and clean as possible, and I've applied many of his tips. Obviously it must be accounted for on playback! The above method is working perfectly without all that other screwing around! After all, that's why they have direct monitoring on USB interfaces to compensate for the latency you would otherwise hear while dubbing tracks. I was wrong! Seems dumb now, not to have thought of it before. I just assumed that the Time Offset thing was a necessary evil- Even though it was a pain. But I also knew it would have more latency. I knew I wanted a USB interface for the portability and the fact that you can keep it away from computer and monitor noise. So even though I used to engineer back in analog times, this is a different can of worms and makes me newbie. To be dirt honest, I'm completely new to all the gear in my home studio. Kinda sounds like the way it should have worked in the first place! Now everything records in sync without having to do the Time Offset thing on every track. I found my value by trial and error, which turned out to be 5 milliseconds. Under Options> Device Properties on the Wave In tab there is a box for Multitrack Latency where you can enter a value in milliseconds. because as soon as I posted that I had this mini revelation: Just because that's what I've been doing doesn't mean it's the ultimate solution! I thought there must be an easier way, so I dug a little deeper, and I've found it! I didn't see any mention of this in the thread, so I thought I'd mention it. I've never had to change it by more than 3 numbers. It just moves the new wave block in time relation to the drum/rythym track to compensate for the latency. Then I save that track into my multi-track session, and from then on it's always in time whether I dub more takes onto it, or whatever. I then change the Time Offset for that wave block to 00:02:37:25, give a quick listen and if it's still off, I go back and take it down one more number to 00:02:37:24 -Bingo, it's in sync. Just right click on the newly recorded block, then select "Wave Block Properties." In the box you will see "Time Offset." Adjust the smallest incremental number to a smaller value.įor instants: I use 30 fps SMPTE to measure time, so let's say I record a solo on another track at 00:02:37:26 of the song, but it's out of sync on playback. Native on Apple silicon Macs: AU, VST3.Musko, I use a USB soundcard, so there is always a small amount of latency, making my additional tracks out of sync on playback.Intel Macs & Rosetta on Apple silicon Macs: AU, VST3, VST2.Supported plug-in formats for hosting plug-ins within the RX 10 Audio Editor differs based on your operating environment: It is included with RX 10 Standard and Advanced only. The authors of the Music Perception article conducted a study in which participants were asked to tap along with recordings of drum patterns played over Balkan folk melodies in irregular meters, then continue tapping out the rhythm once the drum pattern was turned off, then in the absence of both the drum pattern and the melody. "Irregular" time signatures are anything but unusual in other parts of the world-some musical cultures from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Balkan Peninsula commonly use metric structures that don't follow the same set of rules as Western music, according to an article called "Synchronization and Continuation Tapping to Complex Meters" for a 2006 edition of Music Perception: An Interdisciplinary Journal.īut people raised in North America often have a particular trouble with irregular time signatures. Time signatures like these are often known as "irregular," "complex," or "asymmetrical" time signatures. For example: Try clapping along with the original Mission: Impossible theme, which is also in a 5/4 time signature. (Hence the title.) When there are five, seven, eleven, or almost any number of beats in a measure that doesn't divide evenly into twos or threes, the beats can become non-isochronous-meaning the emphasized beats, the ones you would tap your foot along with, aren't evenly spaced. "Take Five," though, is written and performed in a 5/4 time signature, as my jazz-fan colleague David Graham mentioned yesterday-meaning there are five beats per measure. As Justin London, a music professor at Carleton College, puts it in " How to Talk About Musical Metre," "Western music theory, from the 19th century through Lerdahl and Jackendoff (1983) has presumed meter to be inherently isochronous." In other words, when you tap your foot to a common piece of Western music, be it one by Katy Perry or Tchaikovsky, your taps will have regular time intervals between them. Most Western music is dependent on a structure with two, three, or four beats in a measure-or some multiple of those-with even spaces between the emphasized beats. TO THE NAKED EYE, IT MAY APPEAR THAT: Jazz pianist Dave Brubeck, who died Wednesday, will be remembered for recording one of the most beloved jazz melodies of its era: 1959's distinctive, serpentine "Take Five," which was written by Brubeck's collaborator Paul Desmond (well, maybe it was a joint effort) and performed by their band, The Dave Brubeck Quartet.īUT ACCORDING TO SOME EXPERTS WHO THOUGHT REALLY HARD ABOUT THIS: There's another reason why the popularity of "Take Five" is remarkable: It's performed in a musical structure that people in the Western world often show cognitive resistance to.
